Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has directed officials to resolve Bangalore’s water problem as soon as possible. He directed the municipal authorities to immediately check the quality of the drinking water and improve it. It is worth noting that this warning by the Deputy CM came at a time when there were reports of many people falling ill due to contaminated water in the state.

DK Shivakumar, who is also the Urban Development Minister of Bengaluru, has written a letter to the Chairman of the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board and the Commissioner of the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation, asking them to ensure safe water supply to the residents of the city.

Not only that, Shavkumar also warned the two policemen in his letter against disciplinary measures in case they do not follow the instructions. Earlier on Thursday, the Deputy CM of Karnataka announced that tests will be conducted across the state regarding the quality of drinking water so that people can be protected from diseases caused by dirty water. He said that several reports were received where the drinking water was contaminated in many places due to rain. This increased the risk of disease for people. So we asked officials to conduct tests across the country. We have also spoken to the Chief Minister of Karnataka in this regard.

Let us tell you that in recent days many people have fallen ill due to polluted water in Karnataka. These include many cases of cholera in the country. One person died and many others became seriously ill.
