Jodie Stott Hairdressing relocates to Haughton, Darlington Achi-News

With years of hairdressing experience and an already established customer base, Jodie, who has previously worked at Talking Heads Cockerton’s salon and ECO Hair Salon on Duke Street, is embarking on a new journey and has opened her own salon at Haughton, above No. 58 The Oasis.

Jodie moved into her new premises on Good Friday (March 29), and business has been fantastic so far.

Speaking about her decision to move into her own building, Jodie said: “I wanted to create somewhere more personal, where there could be a more one-to-one setting.

“This feels right, it’s the right location and the right place for myself, my family and my clients.”

Jodie first announced that she would be opening her new salon on March 21 in a Facebook post, which has since garnered massive support from her friends and followers.

As a military wife, Jodie has had to move around the country but has lived in the North East for almost 7 years, making her part of the furniture. Jodie believes that her career as a hairdresser helped her settle into the area and helped her make friends and build relationships with others.

Jodie told the Echo that getting her new salon together with lots of decorating was a quick turnaround, but after a lot of hard work from her friends, family and husband James, the salon is now ready to welcome all its clients .

Working hard over the years to build her clientele, Jodie has already had some of her clients in the salon, who have all appreciated the new arrangement and Jodie is looking forward to returning to the salon on after Easter Weekend on Tuesday, April 9.

“I’ve had amazing feedback, I’m so lucky, lots of flowers, chocolates and cards.”

As a mother of two, Jodie hopes her new business venture will make it easier to continue to support working mothers and other military wives, who may find it more difficult to arrange childcare for attend a hairdressing appointment.

She said: “I can be more flexible for my clients with my own salon if someone needs an appointment on a Sunday I can do that, I can suit everyone’s needs.”
