Traffic jams are a major problem during road maintenance and despite the best efforts of experts to find a solution, motorists have to struggle with this situation.
However, the Swiss Federal Road Office found an innovative solution and introduced a revolutionary model of road construction and repair.
Earlier this year, the process began with the installation of a 257 meter long mobile bridge (Astra Bridge) on the road to allow normal traffic flow and the road infrastructure underneath to be repaired and built.
This very simple concept is surprising, why did the engineers take so long to invent it? This is because Astra Bridge is the first solution of its kind, but as said, it’s not that simple.
