A major accident took place in Panipat, Haryana on Monday afternoon. Here, an iron pipe filled with water and dirt suddenly fell down from the elevated highway at Sanjay Chowk in the city. Because of this, several vehicles and pedestrians who were passing through Highway-44 below were injured.

This accident caused a stampede at the scene. Local people also reached the spot. They started to evacuate the people buried under the pipe, but due to the heavy weight of the pipe, people are facing difficulty with the relief work. After the matter came to the attention of the administration, the rescue team also reached the spot. The police arrived at the scene and started smoothing the traffic system.
According to the information, this drainage pipe was installed to drain the rainwater from the elevated highway. He fell from a height of about 50 feet. After the accident, there was a long jam on GT Road. After much effort, the police moved the vehicles aside and normalized the traffic.
2 people in the car were injured
This accident happened on GT Road around 2.30 pm, in which 2 people were injured. These two people were traveling in the car. At the same time, around 6 vehicles and a bicycle were damaged. One injured person has been admitted to a nearby private hospital.
It is not yet known how the pipe fell. A preliminary investigation revealed that water and dirt had accumulated in the pipe for a long time. The L&T company is responsible for its cleaning and maintenance.
