In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the Mumbai Indians team is once again in controversy over the toss. People have raised questions on social media about not showing the coin on camera during the toss against Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday.

Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya tossed the coin against Kolkata at Wankhede, after which Shreyas Iyer called heads, but the match referee said tails had come. That means Hardik won the award. However, before the camera could reach the coin, the referee had already picked up the coin and given the decision. IPL has tweeted a video of the toss, and people have raised questions on it.

Earlier, questions were raised regarding the trouble in the match between Mumbai and Bengaluru. In that match, Mumbai captain Pandya had thrown the coin very far. Which was seen only by the umpire of the match Javagal Srinath and said that Mumbai won the toss. Later, during the match against Hyderabad, Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis was seen narrating the entire story to SRH captain Pat Cummins.

Kolkata defeated Mumbai
The team was defeated by Kolkata Knight Riders by 24 runs on Friday at Wankhede. Kolkata defeated Mumbai after 12 years at the Wankhede ground. Kolkata’s last win against Mumbai on this ground was in 2012. Five-time champions Mumbai Indians are out of the IPL-2024 playoff race.

Mumbai won the toss and chose to bowl at the home ground. Kolkata were all out for 169 runs in 19.5 overs. In reply, Mumbai were all out for 145 runs in 18.5 overs. Mitchell Starc took 4 wickets, while Venkatesh Iyer scored 70 runs on 52 balls. He was chosen as player of the match.
