Passengers can now book general travel tickets and platform tickets from anywhere through the UTS On Mobile app. Earlier, passengers could book unreserved and platform tickets only for trains operating from stations falling within a 20 km radius of their mobile location.
Recently, for the convenience of passengers, railways has removed the outer limit (geo-fencing distance) of ticket booking, so that tickets can be booked for any station in India from anywhere. However, no change has been made to the internal boundary of a geofence. This means that people can only book tickets outside the station.

How to order a platform ticket through the UTS app?
- First of all, download and install the UTS app on your smartphone.
- Create an account on the UTS app by filling in a mobile number and name and other details.
- Now login by entering mobile number and password or OTP.
- Select the platform card option visible in the app.
- Now select the option of paperless card.
- Enter the station name and passenger number and tap Book a ticket.
- Make a payment using a wallet or other payment option.
- After payment, your card will be visible.
Travel without a reservation through the UTS app How do you order tickets?
First of all, download and install the UTS app on your smartphone and create an account as described earlier. If an account is already created, you can login by entering your mobile number and password. You can login by selecting OTP option instead of password.
- Now select the travel card option.
- Choose the paperless card option.
- Enter the name of the origin station and the destination station.
- Now you need to click on get rate option.
- Confirm your details and make a payment using a wallet or other payment option.
- After payment, your card will be visible.
Passengers can also book season tickets through the UTS app.
Passengers traveling on the same route can also book season tickets through the UTS app. To do this, after selecting the season ticket option, select the ‘book and travel’ option on the paperless ticket. Tickets can be ordered monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually.
