The players of Khad football club from Himachal Pradesh had a bitter experience. Deepak Sharma’s All India Football Federation (AIFF) executive committee misbehaved with women players. Not only did he enter their hotel room after drinking heavily, he physically assaulted them. After the sportsmen complained about the incident, the Goa police took him into custody.
Khad Football Club from Himachal Pradesh participated in the Indian Women’s League (IWL) 2024 in Goa. This event happened in this order. Two female footballers have complained to the police that Deepak Sharma physically assaulted them in a hotel room. They said in the complaint that he was drunk then and also while coming from Himachal Pradesh to Goa he was drinking alcohol in front of them.
The incident took place on March 28. Deepak Sharma was arrested by the Goa police on Saturday. On this, Mapusa Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sandesh Chodankar, said that he was arrested by Mapusa police under various sections including other charges such as wounding and forcing a woman. After that, medical tests were carried out on him. The Deputy Superintendent revealed that Sharma will be remanded in custody overnight and will appear before the court on March 31 (Sunday).
