The Supreme Court asked the Enforcement Directorate not to unnecessarily harass five district officials in Tamil Nadu in a money laundering case related to illegal sand mining. In fact, the state complained in the court that its officials remained sitting in the ED office till 8.30 pm. please book Earlier on April 2, the court reprimanded the five district officers for not appearing before the department. During the hearing, senior attorney Kapil Sibal, appearing on behalf of the state, said that the district commissioner appeared before the District Attorney. To this the ED lawyer said that he had certainly appeared before the ED but he had not yet handed over a single document to the agency. Sibel rejected this claim, because everything the investigating authority requested through the subpoena, everything was granted. On this the ED lawyer said that no such document was submitted and we can also submit an affidavit in the case. To this the bench said that they should clarify which documents have not been submitted so far by the authorities and a report should be submitted in this regard. The judge adjourned the hearing of the case until July.

During the hearing of the case on April 2, the Supreme Court warned the five collectors of Tamil Nadu that they could be in trouble if they did not appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to answer summons in the sand mining case. The bench objected to the non-appearance of the police officers at the summons of A.D. The judge said that this shows that the police have no respect for the court or the law. Such an approach is strongly condemned. The court gave him the last chance to appear before the ED on April 25 with all the particulars.
