TC time it took for the streaming site to share the sophisticated hack – and it has the internet in a spin.

He begins by saying: “I just want to show everyone how to reserve a parking space for themselves.”

He explains how there is a festival in his neighborhood and everyone always parks right in front of his house which makes his wife “very crazy”.

The video shows a vehicle surrounded by orange tape with a cone which, according to TC, is “okay as long as it’s not paint”.

He continues: “Orange usually means no parking and I have this professional looking cone.”

He concluded by saying: “It worked, not a single person parked outside.”

The clip had mixed reactions in the comments section.

One person was less amused and wrote: “I would still park there and throw that cone across the street.”

While another agreed and said: “You forgot that the street is public property and anyone can park there whether they want to or not, you bought the house not the street or even the sidewalk.

“Be glad I don’t live there because I will park every day in front of your house just to prove my point.”

But others flocked to the man’s support with one even branding him a “hero”.

One person commented: “Great video! You definitely helped a lot of people. I hate disrespect Neighbors.”

Then he agreed and said: “You are my hero! I have inconsiderate neighbors and I was looking for ideas!”

A third suggested: “I checked it.. using tape as long as it’s not yellow, it’s legal. Pretty cool hack.”

“Another wasn’t sure but after fact-checking found it was on the right side of the field Law.”

Orange tape can be purchased from The Range for just £3.

Parking tips

It comes as a driving instructor says his hack can help learners master parallel parking on their first try.

Whiz Motoring Pin, from Staffordshire, has revealed eight easy steps to make sure you park perfectly every time.

He said the three “points of reference” for parallel parking in reverse will be different depending on your car.

Posting on TikTok, he said: “Take observations and stop next to the parked vehicle – about a meter away.

“Then lift the handbrake, select the reverse gear and make observations again.

“Release your handbrake and start driving backwards to the first reference point.

“The first reference point is when the rear of the other vehicle is in the middle of your rear window.

“Check the right blind spot – then steer once to the left.”

“Steer twice to the right and once to the left.

“Then continue driving backwards, leaving enough room to move forward.

“The third reference point is when your car is parallel to the curb.”

Parking outside your home

There’s nothing worse than coming back after a long day and finding you can’t park anywhere near your house.

Many people hear so much untruth on the internet and social media regarding parking disputes, we decided to give you the lowdown on what you can and can’t do legally if you suffer from such a problem.

How can I stop my neighbor from using my parking space?

The first thing to remember is that no one has an automatic right to shop outside their home.

With this in mind, you will have to resolve the situation amicably, so it is important to keep your cool.

Always remember, provided they are not breaking the highway code, all road users are technically entitled to park outside your home in most cases.

A friendly chat with the neighbor in question is the first port of call, you might find they didn’t realize their parking habits were bothering you.

What are my parking rights?

The main thing to take into account when it comes to the parking law and also the recommendations from the road law is that it all boils down to common sense and mostly good manners.

While people look at it as an “unwritten rule” that a homeowner should be entitled to park outside, it unfortunately is.

Even in the case of someone blocking your driveway, it’s just common courtesy not to park directly in front of them, which gives the property owner access to their parking lot.

The Highway Code, section 207, asks people not to park their vehicle where it could cause an obstruction to other pedestrians or road users, and gives the example of not parking in front of another person’s driveway.

In fact, while there are certain rules and regulations according to the highway code that refer to parking on public roads, for the most part it is common decency and courtesy.

How do you report a parking problem?

First, most police websites state the following:

If there is a parking space on a public road, even if it is directly outside your house, anyone may park there. We appreciate that this can be frustrating, especially if spaces are hard to come by in your street.

They also consider an illegally parked car to be:

If the vehicle is parked:

  • on zig zag lines
  • dangerously
  • in a way that prevents emergency vehicles from accessing

If these apply to your situation, you can go to your local police website and complete the relevant contact form.
