In Kuruppanthara, Kerala, a group’s use of Google Maps was so costly that it resulted in its death. It is said that a group of tourists from Hyderabad went towards Alappuzha on Friday night. Since everyone was unaware of the area, they used Google Map to reach their destination, but due to wrong information on Google Map, their car fell into the swollen river.

The accident happened on Friday night

A vehicle belonging to a group of tourists from Hyderabad fell into a swollen river near Kurupanthara district in southern Kerala after they used Google Maps, police said on Saturday. This incident happened on Friday night. Four people, including a woman, were traveling towards Alappuzha. It was raining where he was traveling.

Miraculous salvation

Due to this, the roads were submerged in water as the tourists were not aware of this area, they used Google Map, but due to wrong information, their car fell into the swollen river. However, thank God all four narrowly escaped with the efforts of the police patrol unit and local residents, but their vehicle was drowned in the water.

A similar accident happened last year as well

An official at the Kadaturuthi police said: ‘Efforts are being made to free the vehicle. It is worth noting that this is not the first such incident in Kerala. In October last year, two young doctors died when their car fell into a river in Kochi, Kerala. Three other people were injured in the accident. The car riders were said to have driven with the help of Google Maps. Then the car fell into the river. Following the incident, the Kerala Police issued warning guidelines for using the map during the monsoon season.
