RCMP say human remains found in a rural area northeast of Moose Jaw may have been there for at least 10 years.
Police were called to the scene in the afternoon on April 28.
The deceased person has not been identified, RCMP said in a news release Friday.
“This investigation, which will consider historical missing persons in the area, is ongoing and an update will be provided as soon as more information becomes available,” the statement said.
RCMP added that searches will continue in the area, adding that people may notice an increased police presence.
The police said that at this stage they do not believe that the death was suspicious in nature.
