How can non-filers recover blocked sims? Find out in the news Achi-News

Mobile SIMs blocked by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will be restored by the concerned Inland Revenue Commissioner who has jurisdiction over those who do not file income tax returns.

There are cases where non-filers have filed returns after SIMs have been blocked. Now, they want to restore their sims. There are two methods that can be used to recover a person whose mobile SIM has been blocked.

The easiest way is to inform FBR through its helpline that the tax return has been filed, after verification the blocked SIM will be restored within 48 hours. Another way is to go to the Inland Revenue Commissioner of the Regional Tax Office who has jurisdiction over non-filing of income tax returns.

The non-filer should go to the relevant tax office where he is registered and inform him to file a form to restore his mobile SIM.

According to the FBR, the mobile SIMs in relation to the said persons will remain blocked until the FBR or the Inland Revenue Commissioner is restored under his jurisdiction.

Under section 114B of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, the Board or Commissioner having jurisdiction over a person referred to in the Income Tax General Order may order the restoration of a mobile phone, mobile phone SIMs and electricity and gas connection, in cases where n satisfied. that – (a) the statement has been filed; or (b) the person was not liable to file a return under the provisions of the Ordinance.
