The government held an important meeting on Monday in light of fake emails sent to several schools in the national capital last week. Delhi Chief Secretary and Delhi Police Commissioner attended the meeting. During this, Union Home Minister Ajay Bhalla reviewed the current situation. During this, he emphasized the need to increase security in schools, regular monitoring of CCTV cameras and emails.

Bhalla also sought close coordination with the Delhi Police and schools. He also emphasized on an effective response mechanism, so that false information does not create unnecessary panic. A Home Ministry spokesperson said the Home Secretary was reviewing the situation in light of fake emails received by some schools in Delhi last week. He stressed the need to prepare detailed protocols and SOPs to deal with any such situation in the coming days.

Delhi: More than 200 schools have received threatening emails

In fact, more than 200 schools in Delhi-NCR received similar threatening emails on May 1 claiming that explosives had been planted on their premises. As a result, a massive evacuation and search operation was carried out and frightened parents began arriving at the school to pick up their children. However, nothing objectionable was found during the search.

Threat to bomb 16 schools in Ahmedabad as well

Meanwhile, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, an email was received on Monday threatening to bomb 16 schools, but after searching all the schools, the police declared it fake.
