Peshawar: HIV has been confirmed in 16 inmates in the Peshawar Central Jail.
The Superintendent of Central Jail Peshawar said that HIV was confirmed during blood screening of inmates.

According to the prison superintendent, the affected prisoners are drug addicts who are kept separately from other prisoners.
He further stated that there are currently 3400 inmates in the Central Prison while HIV infected inmates are being treated and counselled.
