High Court: Special punishment for son killed by mother; A rare order from the High Court! Achi-News

Bengaluru: No wonder the son who killed his mother is sentenced to death and life imprisonment. However, the State High Court (High Court) has awarded a special type of punishment (Punishment) to a criminal son who killed his own mother. The decision of the High Court can be called a historic one. In this case, the mother died after being hit with a stick by her son while he was drunk.

What is the event?
On April 4, 2015, ‘Kannadaprabha’ reported that an incident took place at Sampaje station under Madikeri in Kodagu district. Gangamma Anno was attacked by her son Anil with a stick that day when he was drunk. He attacked Gangamma with a stick when she protested that her son, who was drunk every day, was not going to work. The locals immediately admitted him to the hospital and the police obtained the ante-mortem statement. Meanwhile, the woman was stunned.

Not guilty in the district court!
However, Anil was acquitted by the 1st Additional and Sessions Court of Kodagu District of murdering the mother in this case. Madikeri Rural Circle Inspector filed an appeal in the High Court and asked for a second trial. Now the High Court has announced the judgment after the case.

What did the High Court say?
The High Court conducted an investigation and convicted Anil under Section 304 (2) of the IPC. However, as Anil had already spent 2 years in prison, the High Court did not want to imprison him again. Also, the opinion was that he attacked his mother while drunk and not with the intention of killing her.
