Guwahati: A substantial quantity of 1.5 kg heroin was seized by the Special Task Force (STF), Assam in a drug dump near Khanapara on April 28.

Acting on a tip-off received by the STF that some drug dealers from Tripura and Manipur were planning to bring drugs to Guwahati, the authorities raided a four-wheeler suspected of carrying the drugs, near the APSC office in Khanapara.
During the operation, the heroin was found in a bag in the car.

In addition, two people who were in the vehicle and the alleged carriers of the seized drugs were caught.
The men have been identified as Jamal Ali of Champopara and Salim Uddin of Gurumari.
Legal proceedings are ongoing while we await further information.
