Amid the rising heat in Jharkhand, classes up to Class VIII in all government and private schools have been suspended from Tuesday. According to officials, classes up to eighth grade will remain suspended until further notice. Uma Shankar Singh, Secretary, School Education and Literacy Department, gave this information by issuing an order.

The secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, said in an order, “Classes from Kindergarten to Grade 8 in all categories of schools, whether government or private, will remain suspended for the time being until further notice.” This decision was made in order to protect students from the negative effects of extreme weather conditions. The order will come into effect from April 30, but this order does not apply to teachers.

A separate notice will go out to teachers and non-teaching employees
