Heat intensity decreases in eastern, southern peninsular India – Amar Ojala Live Hindi News Achi-News

The intensity of the ongoing heat wave in parts of eastern and southern peninsular India eased slightly on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted relief from the scorching heat in these areas after two days. IMD said heatwave conditions persist in the Ganga region of West Bengal, parts of Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Telangana. The maximum temperatures in these areas are 3-5 degrees Celsius above normal. At least 10 places in these countries recorded temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius.

A temperature of 46 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh

According to IMD data, maximum temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius were recorded at 13 places on Friday and 17 places on Thursday. Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh recorded a temperature of 46 degrees Celsius and remained the hottest place in the country for the third consecutive day on Saturday. The maximum temperature was 45.9 degrees Celsius in Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh), 45 degrees in Mahbubnagar (Telangana), 44 degrees in Budha in Odisha, 43.5 degrees in Kaur Paramathi (Tamil Nadu), 44.6 degrees in Nizamabad (Telangana), 44 degrees. Cuddapah (Andhra Pradesh) 45.4°C and 43.5°C were recorded in Kalaikonda, West Bengal.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in these areas

The department said that the heat wave in eastern and southern peninsular India will continue till May 5-6 and will end thereafter. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand from May 5 to 9. During this period, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain over East Uttar Pradesh, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Karnataka from May 6 to 9.
