Darjeeling: Water problem is a big problem in the mountains. Fahr residents have been complaining about the water problem for a long time. The water that comes through the water pipe is the water that flows somehow. To deal with this water problem, the central government launched the ‘Har Jar Jal’ scheme.

Har Jhar Jal scheme can show magic in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. From this idea, efforts are being made to connect all the rural houses of the country in this special project. But how successful is this project? What do the residents of the mountain village say?

Incidentally, the BJP government announced the success of ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’ during the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaign. This Har Jhar Jal scheme can work like a charm in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections just as the respective mainstream schemes have worked in both the elections.

The local inhabitants of the hill say that ‘our village is called Char d’Or. Our village is under St Mary 2 Gram Panchayat. Water has always been a problem here. But we hope this problem will be solved soon. Because the tank was built for the Har Ger water project in the village. We will get water to four villages. If we get this water, many of our problems will be solved.’

Sahadev Tamang, head of St. Mary 2 Gram Panchayat said, “Har Ghar Jal project has been started for the people of 5 villages belonging to Singal Tea estate with 12 million rupees. The preparation of the tank is in progress. Once this tank is built. 9 thousand people will get the benefit of this water from here.” .Nain Kumar Rai, another resident of the village said, “If this Jhar Jal project is implemented, the problem of drinking water will be far away. But I hear a lot of groundwork has been done before that.” I look forward to seeing how this work progresses and when it will be completed.
