Raj Singh, a resident of Sector 27, Rohtak, lodged a complaint of theft at the IMT police station. It was stated in the complaint that he was a DIG retired from the Better Schools Fund. He had left home on May 22 and was going to drop off his friend. When he returned home, he saw that the lock of the main gate of the house was broken and the doors were also open. When he entered the house, he found out that someone unknown had committed a robbery in his house.

He said when he was taking care of the things inside the house, it was discovered that his Apple laptop, iPhone, watch, gold chain, set of pearls, earrings etc. were stolen. After that the complaint about the matter was given on dialing 112. After receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and started an investigation. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered against an unknown accused and an investigation started. The dog squad and a fingerprint expert were called to the scene.
