Sumit from Kumarkhal village in Bihar works at Ved Wood Girl shop near Karna Tal Park in Karnal. Earlier he lived in Delhi, where his vote remains. He had gone to Tilak Nagar, Delhi on the morning of 25 May to cast his vote. Got down on the train at Bhaini Khurd railway station late on 25th May. To reach Karnal on foot from the station, OCS had reached the Jhinjhari flyover, just behind Karnal, so he lent his hand to a bike for a lift.

Two youths were riding the bike. The youth made him sit on the bike, but instead of taking him to Karnal, they took him to the canal track behind OCS. In the dark they stopped the bike and started looting it. The two youths took her purse. He had 1500 rupees in his purse, he also had a Samsung mobile phone, which was worth thousands of rupees.
The purse contained driving license, Aadhar card, train ticket and other documents. The two youths threatened him and he was very afraid. The two youths fled from the van. He could not even identify the number of the bike. He came out from there and lodged a complaint at the Sadar Karnal Police Station.
The police registered a case
Sadar police station investigating officer Umesh Kumar said that Sumit had given a complaint about the robbery that happened to him. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against unidentified bike drivers and investigation has started. Whatever facts emerge, action will be taken accordingly.
