A massive fire broke out in the electrical transformer installed outside the office of the Block Panchayat Development Officer (BDPO) in Bawal town of Haryana’s Rewari district on Friday afternoon. The fire was so fierce that the car and the Swift Dezire bike parked very close to it were also caught and completely burnt.

According to eyewitnesses, at around 1:15 pm on Friday afternoon, a light spark started coming out from the electricity transformer installed outside the BDPO office in Bawal city and within a few minutes, flames started to rise. People nearby immediately informed the fire department and electricity corporation officials. As it was a busy area, a young man’s bicycle who had come from work at the BDPO office and a Swift car with a taxi number were parked very close to the transformer.
A bicycle and a car parked nearby were also caught in the fire. Both vehicles were completely burnt to ashes.
Within a few minutes the fire began to spread rapidly. First the bike caught fire and then the car also caught fire. By the time the fire brigade arrived at the scene, apart from the two vehicles, the electric transformer had been completely burnt. However, the fire department personnel brought the fire under control after some time.
However, it is not yet clear what caused the fire. After the information, the police team has also reached the spot and is trying to find out the cause of the fire. Electricity was disrupted in the entire area due to the burning of the power transformer.
