The controversy is deepening after a woman accused West Bengal Governor Dr CV Anand Bose of molestation. Political uproar has intensified over the matter. Meanwhile, Bose on Thursday showed CCTV footage of the May 2 scene to about 100 people in connection with the woman’s alleged molestation.

In the hall on the ground floor of the Raj Bhavan, footage from two CCTV cameras from May 2 was shown to the people. It is said that CCTV footage installed at the main gate of Raj Bhavan has been shown and the screening is ongoing.

It is worth noting that a female employee appointed on contract at Raj Bhavan filed a complaint with the Kolkata Police alleging sexual harassment at Raj Bhavan. Based on the woman’s complaint, the Kolkata Police formed a team to investigate the matter. Bose on Wednesday said he would not show the CCTV footage to the Kolkata Police and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The police are accused of “government clutches”

According to the news, the police called Raj Bhavan employees for questioning, but no one turned up on the first day. According to the reports, the governor also ordered the employees not to cooperate with the police in this matter. In a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday, it was claimed that the police acted on the instructions of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In such a situation, he is willing to show the CCTV footage to 100 people besides these two.

Statement on the allegation of non-display of CCTV footage

In a statement released by Raj Bhavan on social media handle-X, it said that the police allegations are fabricated. To reveal this, the governor launched the program ‘Sach Ka Samana’. Describing the police investigation as illegal and unconstitutional, Raj Bhavan said the allegations of not showing CCTV footage of an incident were untrue.
