Operating beyond traditional constraints, B Borooah College began as a beacon of Arab education. This innovative approach has allowed people, especially men engaged in daytime work, to pursue higher education. The college foundation, initially housed at Kamrup Academy, was bolstered by a generous donation of Rs 10,000 from the philanthropic spirit of Keshav Kanta, a gesture symbolizing community support for educational endeavours.

Under the supervision of esteemed principals like Professor Surendra Mohan Das and them Borooah, B. Borooah College has blossomed into a reputed institution. The move to his current abode in Ulubari in 1963 marked a key moment in his career. Under the patronage of Gehati University since 1948, the institution has expanded its academic repertoire.
