GUWAHATI: A boy was sexually assaulted by a water tanker driver in Chandmari area on Wednesday, May 22.

The incident took place when the alleged culprit visited the boy’s house to supply water. Taking advantage of the absence of any other family member, he allegedly carried out the attack.
The victim’s family immediately reported the incident to the Chandmari police station and filed a case. The suspect, Ramen Haloui, 28, a resident of Chandmari, was arrested by the police on Wednesday.
Speaking to GPlus, a police official from the Chandmari police station said, “The incident took place yesterday and after the family filed the complaint, we took him into custody.”
Further investigations are underway.
