The Principal of School of Education Kashmir has strongly refuted the news published in some local newspapers regarding Government High School Laripora Pahalgam, which is based on misrepresentation of facts. The news is based on unverified facts and depicts a negative image of the department.
Badr Dr. Tasaduq Hussain, Principal of Kashmir School of Education, said that the news is baseless and the fact is that HS Laripora Pahalgam has a total enrollment of 165 and the teaching staff is 12, meaning the student teacher ratio is 1:14. In addition this school has 01 Aaya to take care of children in KGs. It is therefore clear that the school has sufficient staff available as per enrolment. The director’s position is vacant, but at the same time the director of HSR was assigned the additional payment for the institution until an official arrangement in the government.
It is worth mentioning that during the recent ATD special emphasis was placed on providing staff to the schools in remote areas and during ATD 2023 03 masters were provided to the institution, and as of the date there is no vacant position of master or teacher in the institution.
Regarding the availability of appropriate infrastructure at the institution, it is clarified that the school has 10 rooms available for holding classes, of which only one room is reserved as an office for the staff. However, the J&K School Education Department has already brought about the improvement of the school’s infrastructure by sanctioning a 10-room building which is in progress. The construction work could not be started because the proposed type design was not feasible according to the available land. The same has been conducted with the concerned quarters for redesigning the type design and the construction work will start soon.
