On October 17, the Supreme Court asked the center to establish a committee under the government secretary to examine benefits for homosexuals. An announcement was made on Tuesday. According to this, the gay community should not face any kind of problem and there should be no discrimination against them from the central and state governments. The committee will check that the gay community does not face any problem accessing services or any program. The government’s measures for the gay community will also be examined.
The committee will also have to take care of the mental health of the gay community. The social welfare rights of these communities must be protected in a non-discriminatory manner.

The members of the committee set up for the gay community include the Union Home Minister, Legislative Secretary, Health Secretary, Women and Child Development Secretary and Justice and Social Empowerment Secretary among other members of the committee.
