Sunil rose to fame by producing ‘Haatiara’ and ‘Hirasat’. The films were directed by Surendra Mohan. Sunil did ‘Hatiara’ in 1977 with Moushumi Chatterjee, Vinod Khanna, Rakesh Roshan and Nirupa Roy. ‘Hirasat’ was released in 1987. The film featured stars like Mithun Chakraborty, Shatrughan Sinha, Hema Malini and Anita Raj.
