GUWAHATI: In the last one year, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has treated more than 9 lakh OPD cases.

Speaking to GPlus, GMCH Superintendent Dr. Abhijit Sarma said, "Last year, GMCH treated a total of 997,636 OPD patients and 113,367 IPD patients."
The data further highlights the quarterly trends in patient attendance. From April to June 2023, OPD attendance was 248,066, with 27,231 patients admitted as an inpatient (IPD). Then, from July to September 2023, OPD attendance increased to 277,927, accompanied by 28,876 IPD patients.

Later, from October to December 2023, OPD attendance decreased slightly to 243,945, while the number of IPD patients increased to 29,529. Finally, between January and March 2024, the OPD saw 227,688 patients seeking medical assistance, with 27,731 patients admitted as IPD cases.
