GUWAHATI: In the latest case of physical assault by Abhisekh Mahajan, a Post Graduate Trainee (PGT) of Obstetrics and Gynecology (O&G), on a patient admitted to the O&G Department of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), he was expelled from the hospital. Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati, with immediate effect, for a period of one year.

In response to a complaint filed by the victim’s husband, Marnal Ali against Abhishek Mahajan, an inquiry committee was convened to investigate the alleged assault of Marnal’s wife in the work room of GMCH, Guwahati.
After a thorough examination of the incident, the committee confirmed the occurrence of the attack. In addition, Abhishek Mahajan admitted his involvement in the attack.
The decision to expel Mahajan was taken due to inappropriate behavior, immoral behavior and unethical practice on the premises of the medical college while on duty.
