The sweet tot was admitted to the hospital for scheduled surgery last week.

But his health deteriorated hours after the operation and he was rushed into surgery to drain fluid from his brain.

He needed a breathing tube and was put into an induced coma.

Aaron said: “I swear to God who sees him without the bandage, he looks amazing.

“He was so swollen from the infection it didn’t look like him. But he’s 100% on the right track.

“I feel that a weight has been lifted. I hope and pray that it will be the worst.”

Concerned Aaron and Talia, 32, updated their followers daily and asked fans to pray.

Tonight, Talia revealed that Oakley had opened his eyes and she was allowed to hold him for the first time in days.

She said: “Three surgeries my boy is awake and doing amazing.

“My heart could burst with pride. Son you are the meaning of strength. Thank you to everyone who wished Oakley.

“Let’s walk the road to recovery baby. I’m sharing our journey as a family and raising awareness.”

Oakley was born with the rare genetic disorder Apert syndrome.

Children diagnosed are born with fused skull and facial bones and are not growing in proportion, according to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The condition is said to occur in one in 65,000 to 88,000 births and the child’s outlook can vary greatly depending on the severity of the symptoms.

Talia’s followers shared messages of relief, with Safia Waraji writing: “Such a strong brave champion all my love to you all.”

Big Brother star Letisha Grace commented: “Omg my heart, so glad he’s on the mend. Little fighter. Sending you so much love xxxx”

Aaron and Talia share three children together, including four-year-old Romeo, Maddox, and three-year-old Oakley.

The couple previously split in December 2022 after five years together following a series of rows.

What is Effert syndrome?

APERT syndrome, also known as acrocephalosyndactyly, is a rare disorder named after the doctor who first discovered it in the early 20th century.

It is a genetic condition and is caused by a mutation of the FGFR2 gene.

It affects how cells in the body – namely bone cells – grow, divide and die.

This can increase a child’s risk of hydrocephalus, which causes pressure to build up on the brain, and it can also cause a Chiari malformation, where the base of the brain is compressed.

Other complications include breathing difficulties and heart problems, which require lifelong monitoring.
