Girls are forced into domestic work or prostitution while boys are forced into child labour. Who are the children’s buyers? How does this type of gang network work? A daily paper Spoke to the specialist and understood all this matter. Read this report…

Understand how child trafficking occurs from these two causes.

First case: Kidnapping of a child from Rewa for a Maharashtra couple

On May 7, a 6-month-old child was kidnapped from Rewa. The police found the child from Kalyan in Mumbai within three days on 10 May. 11 accused related to this case were arrested. What the police revealed is shocking. In fact, the entire gang had kidnapped the child of a childless couple from Maharashtra. This deal was done for Rs 29 lakh.

Six-month-old Aaresh was kidnapped from Rewa on May 7. He was recovered from Raigarh, Maharashtra.

Now know how the kidnapping was done…

The Mumbai hospital attendant had it all planned out

Shri Krishna Shantaram Patil, who lives in Raigarh, Maharashtra, got married in the year 2021 at the age of 50. The Patil couple visited Vaidya, Hakim and doctors, but they had no child. Lakhs of rupees were also spent in the treatment.

Eventually the couple decided to buy a child. Patil, a teacher by profession, contacted one of his students, Amol Madhukar, who is an assistant in a famous hospital in Mumbai. His wife Arbi alias Sejal works in a share trading company.

After negotiating with his wife Arbi, Amol made an agreement to provide a child to Shri Krishna Shantaram for Rs 29 lakh.

A Gang came to Banaras by plane to kidnap a child

Amol and his wife Arbi alias Sejal contacted auto driver Pradeep Kolambay, who lives in Kalyan. Offered him Rs 9 lakh. Pradeep told Nitin and Swati Soni, who live in Mauganj, Rewa, about this offer.

On hearing this offer, the Soni couple were ready to make arrangements for the child. Amol and his wife Arbi arranged flight tickets from Mumbai to Banaras for the couple Pradeep Colombe and Soni. The three reached Mauganj in Rewa from Banaras.

First a child’s photo was sent, then he was kidnapped

On May 2, this group viciously robbed the first 6-month-old child. Arvind and Manisha Bai, a hawkish couple from Rajasthan, were waiting with their 6-month-old child Aaresh on the footpath of the College intersection in Civil Lines, Rewa. This gang planned to kidnap this child.

Four days before the kidnapping, the accused had taken a picture of the child and sent it on a mobile phone to the Madhukar couple in Mumbai. When the Madhukar couple sent this picture to Shri Krishna Shantaram, he liked it. After this, the next day the gang members tried to kidnap the child, but they could not succeed.

Three days later, at 3 am on 7 May, Mohd. Salim, Atul Jaiswal and Muskaan arrived on their bike, kidnapped Aaresh while he was sleeping and fled away. In the meantime, when he heard the child crying, his parents woke up and chased the three for a considerable distance, but the accused escaped.

The police searched CCTV and found a clue of a gang

The Rewa police became active on the information about the kidnapping of Aresh. According to Rewa SP Vivek Singh, the bikers Mohammad Salim and Atul Jaiswal were identified from the CCTV footage installed nearby. On May 8 itself, the police arrested Salim from Mauganj. On May 10, the police also arrested Guddu Gupta from Mauganj. On questioning Salim and Guddu, it was revealed that the rest of the gang had taken Aresh to Jabalpur.

Rewa Police took the help of Mumbai Police to recover the child

The Rewa Police gave input to the Mumbai Police based on the information received during the interrogation of the accused and sought help in arresting the accused. Here, couple Pradeep and Soni arrived in Thane, Mumbai with the child. In Thane, the three handed over Aresh to the Madhukar couple.

By then the Madhukar couple had taken him to Shri Krishna Shantaram in Raigarh. On the information of Rewa Police, Maharashtra Police arrested the auto driver Pradeep for the first time. After this couple Soni and Madhukar were taken into custody. The police reached the house of Shri Krishna Shantaram with the four. The child was safely recovered from there.

Second case: The international connections of the gang that stole real sisters in Bhopal

Missing children from Madhya Pradesh are also sold in foreign countries. This was confirmed after the recovery of two real sisters, Kajal (8) and Deepawali (11 months), who were kidnapped from Curfew Bhopal Wali Mata Mandir on 21 October 2023. Originally, the girls’ father lives in Ratlam. He lives with his wife and children and works as a laborer in Barela village, Lalgati.

On October 21, Mukesh’s wife Lakshmi along with her four children and sister-in-law had gone to the Mata Mandir complex with a customary curfew. Then the woman took her two daughters, asking her to arrange a feast for them. The police had found the two girls from English Villa in Kolar area.

Haryana resident Archana Sen, her husband Nishant Ramaswami, Kerala resident, Suraj’s son, Suraj’s infant daughter and boyfriend Muskaan Bano were arrested from the spot.

The Bhopal Police had arrested four accused for kidnapping women.

A Delhi female physiotherapist used to smuggle children

Among the five accused, Archana was the local leader of this gang. The leader of this gang, Kumari Shakti Devi, a female physiotherapist who runs a nursing home in Delhi, was also arrested by the police later. Shakti Devi was running a whole gang of children selling.

This gang targeted two types of people. Firstly, children from poor families and children born from illicit relationships. Archana had talked to Kumari Shakti about selling Kajal and Diwali. But she was ready to buy it only for Diwali for Rs 3 lakh. Archana had decided that she would keep Kajal and do her household chores.

Kumari Shakti kept the children from unwanted delivery with Archana. As soon as a buyer was arranged. Children were sent there. A child was also found by the police from Kumari Shakti. At this time the three children were transferred to Child Line. The police could not find the parents of the three children.

An expert said – The police system regarding missing children will have to be changed

According to Archana Sahay, who is associated with the children’s organization, most of the children go missing due to domestic work and prostitution. At the same time, women also run away from home after becoming victims of domestic violence, abuse and neglect. MP is a tribal area. From here a large number of children are taken for child labour.

Archana says that 24 hours from the incident is the most important in the case of missing children. At that time, if the police act quickly, the chances of recovery are highest. In case of missing persons, the police usually only register Section 363 for kidnapping, but they should also register Section 370 for human trafficking.

According to experts, earlier the railway route of MP was used, now it has become the opposite.

According to Prashant Dubey, who works on human trafficking, earlier children from UP-Bihar were sent to other states through MP rail route, but now children are going missing from Madhya Pradesh itself. He gives two reasons for this. The First Sex ratio in MP is better than other states, especially in tribal areas.

They say girls in Bundelkhand and Gwalior-Chambal are also trafficked for matchless marriages. This would also come under human trafficking, but no such action is being taken. On May 10, 2013, the Supreme Court has ordered in the case of missing children in “Bachpan Bachao Andolan” vs. Union of India and Others that kidnapping will be registered under section 363 of the Indian Penal Code in case of children. This is part of this order.
