Along with West Bengal and Assam, now Kerala is also facing the ravages of the weather. A flood situation has arisen in many coastal villages and cities of Kerala, causing huge losses to boats and people involved in fishing. Conditions were also normal in coastal areas of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Thrissur districts.
The ocean waves are very strong
Many houses in Adimalatura, Poggiore and Pontura were submerged in water. The roads are hidden because of water. The administration prevented tourists from visiting the beach in nearby Kovalam. Local residents said the sea waves were very strong at Purakad, Cherthala and Palitudo in Alappuzha. Meanwhile, strong winds and high tides damaged fishing nets in some areas of Thrissur.
Chief Minister Vijayan addressed the people
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the Indian Ocean National Information Services Center has issued a warning of high waves on the Kerala coast. He appealed to fishermen and coastal residents to drive with caution. Vijayan said that there is a possibility of increasing the storm in the sea. Residents are asked to obey the instructions of the authorities. Fishing vessels must be safely anchored in ports.
