Five policemen were injured in the Shikarpur attack Achi-News

SHIKARPUR: At least five policemen were injured when dacoits attacked a police van in Shikarpur, ARY News reported.

According to the police spokesman, the dacoit gang attacked policemen with rocket launchers and opened fire at the police vehicle while they were on routine duty.

Police officials stated that five policemen identified as Youssef Wahid, Mohsin Jansar, Akhtar and others were injured in the attack in which the two policemen were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

On October 11, five policemen, including SHO Mahbub Barui, Head Muharr, Nasim, Constable, Jan Muhammad, Constable, Ayaz and Muhammad Ali, son of SA, were kidnapped along with weapons by bandits in Kot Shahu area.

The abductees were rescued in a joint operation by police and rangers in the village of Abdul Haq Badani located in Khanpur Tehsil of Shikarpur.

The DIG Larkana further said that the operation has been launched to arrest the robbers who escaped from the area.

Sindh’s then Chief Justice Maqbool Bakar also took a serious view of the kidnapping of six policemen, including the SHO of Kot Shahu police.
