Craig Malone, from Coatbridge, died after a single punch to the head when he was attacked outside a nightclub in the Yorte de Mar resort on May 19, 2012.

More than a decade has passed without an arrest, leaving his father Ian Malone frustrated by the lack of progress, despite CCTV footage of the incident being revealed.

In a video shared to Craig Malone’s Facebook group, he said: “Do you or anyone you know have any information that could help our family get justice and answers?

“Can you imagine what it’s like to lose a loved one in such terrible circumstances?

“But our family is aggravated by the fact that people there have information about what happened.

“People have information they may not think is relevant and there are people who know who killed Craig.

“My son’s killer is still living a normal life after 12 years.

“They might have a family of their own now.”

Glasgow Times:

Craig was returning with friends from his brother’s weekend stag night out in the town of Costa Brava when he was fatally shot outside Rockefellers Bar at around 6am.

A woman called Spanish emergency services at 6:26 a.m. and described a “tall man” and others involved in the fight.

Craig’s family say they have never spoken to this woman, and are asking anyone with information about the conversation to get in touch.

Ian’s employers, Laing O’Rourke, hired former Detective Superintendent David Swindell, who helped capture serial killer Peter Tobin, to look into the case.

Ian previously told us how the trauma had a devastating effect on his own health, and that Craig’s mother Antoinette never saw justice for her son when she passed away in 2018.

He said: “I suffered two heart attacks, a stroke and had to undergo spinal surgery which left me in a wheelchair for 20 months. The lack of closure is robbing me of my health – it’s killing me.

“It’s been 10 years since Craig was murdered and I still don’t have any justice.

“Every anniversary I go to his grave but I can’t mourn like a normal father because I’m left in limbo.

“I had no answers and no one is behind bars for his death. It’s devastating and I’m not sure how much longer I can take. It broke me in so many ways and you just never get over losing a child – no parent should have to go through that.”
