In view of the pollution caused by stubble burning, the central government is going to take important steps. According to information received from sources, farmers who burn stubble will no longer get MSP. The central government has asked the states to take action against such farmers. The new system may be implemented starting this year itself.
According to information received from sources, the central government recently told the state governments of Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana that stubble burning farmers should not be given MSP benefit. Also, strict action should be taken against such farmers. The central government has also asked these countries to take help of ISRO in this regard. With this it is possible to identify in which field the farmers burn the stubble. Then, after checking the land records, the stubble burning event will be registered in the name of that farmer.
The Ministry of Food was also asked to prepare a mechanism on this issue. This will check the land records of the farmer who burned the stubble first. After that, it will be decided whether to give the MSP benefit to that farmer or not. The government believes that this decision will reduce pollution in the surrounding areas including Delhi-NCR. Also the incidence of burning bristles will decrease. The government is also constantly trying to purchase stubble from farmers. so that they have a chance to burn. The government can also bring an intensive program for such farmers. If they hand over their stubble to the government, they will receive more intensive treatment.
