The construction of Deoband-Roorkee Railway was announced about 18 years ago. But even after a few years of publication, his work has not begun. The construction of the Deoband-Roorkee railway has progressed well in the last five months. The length of this railway is 17 km in Uttar Pradesh and 10 km in Uttarakhand. This railway will pass through 14 villages in Saharpur district of Uttar Pradesh. For this, 86.26 hectares of land has been acquired in Jatul, Manjhaul Jabarpur, Niamat, Banhera Khas, Majri, Salhapur, Rajpur alias Rampur, Dunichandpur, Asadpur Karanjali, Chakrambadi, Diwalheri, Nurpur and Deoband Hadud. At the same time, 51 hectares of land were also purchased from farmers in 11 villages in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.

Construction of a new railway line from Deoband to Roorkee will reduce the distance by about 33 km. Now the train goes through Roorkee to Topri. Due to the construction of the new line, trains from Deoband will go directly to Roorkee. The construction of this railway line will also reduce the pressure of rail traffic on the main line.

Currently trains from Delhi to Haridwar pass through Muzaffarnagar, Topri or Saharanpur. Actually Topri and Saharanpur are the main railways. This road is quite winding. That is why trains run slowly through this route. The distance from Deoband via Topri to Roorkee is 60 km and the distance from Saharanpur to Roorkee is 76 km. The train takes about two and a half hours to travel this distance. The construction of a direct rail line from Deoband railway station to Roorkee will reduce the distance by about 27.45 km. Moreover, the speed of the train will also increase. As a result, the travel time from Delhi to Haridwar will be reduced by about an hour. Also the time to travel from Delhi to Dehradun by train will also be saved.
