Sonography facility is not available in two major hospitals in Katni, District Hospital and Vijay Raghavgarh Civil Hospital. Now the health department is preparing to provide sonography facility in Katni district hospital with the help of private doctors. This surprising information has come to light in the review of the NHM’s Maternal Health Programme.
According to NHM report, there are USG machines in Katni District Hospital and Vijayaraghavgarh Civil Hospital but doctors are not doing sonography test.

Emergency of doctors in CM’s home area
There are three USG machines in Ujjain District Hospital but only one doctor does sonography. Although it is a PGMO trend, services are not provided. Among the community health centers of Badnagar, Nagda Khachrod in Ujjain district, only Khachrod has the machine. But doctors are not nominated for training. One machine is a CMHO store.
Sonakchh Community Health Center in Dewas district has a USG machine but the doctors do not do sonography. Despite the availability of machines and doctors at Sujalpur Civil Hospital in Shajapur district, sonography is not being done.
Machines available in Bhopal but no doctors
Despite having three USG machines in the Bhopal district hospital, there is only one radiologist. There are two USG machines in Bairagarh Civil Hospital but one has to take services from a private doctor for four days. There are three USG machines at Kailash Nath Katju Hospital but only the doctors are trained. About 150 to 180 women come to Katju Hospital every day. But, sonography facility is not available here. In Aastha of Sehore district, only a private doctor has to do sonography.
Sonography of pregnant women is not done at Katju Hospital Bhopal. He is sent to JP Hospital for examination.
A machine, not a doctor in Rajgarh
There is a machine at Rajgarh District Hospital but due to absence of a doctor, the Collector has made arrangements for sonography by a private doctor. USG machines are available in Narsinghgarh and Sarangpur hospitals but the doctor is not nominated to do sonography. In such a situation, an investigation is not possible.
Had to call a private doctor in Indore and get the test done
There are two machines at the Mhow Civil Hospital in Indore but the doctor has to be called for a day from the district hospital. Despite availability of machines and doctors at Depalpur Community Health Centre, sonography services are not available. Urban Community Health Center (UCHC) Banganga has a radiologist and provides services 2 days a week.
Sonography is not done at Jobat Community Health Center in Alirajpur district. Doctors and machines are available at Sendhwa Civil Hospital in Barwani district. But due to pending registration, sonography is not done. There is USG machine in Dhar district hospital but no doctor is available. A doctor from Amjhera PSC has to be called at Sardarpur Hospital. A machine is available at Sanawad Community Health Center of Khargone district but due to absence of doctor, sonography is not done.
Gwalior District Hospital has two USG machines among six doctors.

Gwalior District Hospital has two machines and 6 doctors are available for sonography. Among these, one radiologist, two medical officers and four gynecologists are available. According to the availability of doctors, there are fewer machines here. Sonography has to be done by a private doctor at Guna District Hospital. Only three machines and one gynecologist are available at Shivpuri District Hospital.
Work is going on from private centers in Bhind district
A contract has been signed with a private doctor for sonography at Bhind District Hospital. Similarly, the Gohad Community Health Center has also signed a contract with a private center for sonography. Although doctors and machines are available at Ambah Civil Hospital in Morena district, sonography is not done because the doctor has not been nominated.
The situation is not good even in Jabalpur
According to the Health Department report, three USG machines and four doctors are available at Jabalpur District Hospital. But, three of these doctors are also posted at Elgin Hospital. Female doctors at the Sihora Civil Hospital provide services only for four days a month.
There is no sonography facility in Katni district government hospitals.
Despite availability of machines and doctors at Katni District Hospital and Vijayaraghavgarh Civil Hospital, sonography services are not provided. Katni is an area where sonography tests are not carried out in two major government hospitals. Radiologist from Sagar District Hospital does not provide services. Similarly, doctors at the Makronia Urban Community Health Center also do not do sonography.
Even in Rewa, the home district of Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla, women have to face problems of sonography.
A sonography emergency in the Health Minister’s area as well
Only one sonography machine is available in Rewa district hospital, the home district of Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Rajendra Shukla. There are machines available in Sirmaur and Teonthar civil hospitals in Rewa district but no doctors. There is no machine or doctor available at Chakghat Community Health Centre. Pregnant women have to face difficulties for doing sonography in the area of ​​the Minister of Health.
Two USG machines are available at Anuppur District Hospital but sonography has to be done through a private doctor. Shahdol District Hospital has three USG machines but only one radiologist. The machine is available at Chitrangi Community Health Center in Singrauli district but there is no doctor, so sonography is not done.
