New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has rejected Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge’s claim that there was a delay in the release of polling statistics for the Lok Sabha elections. The commission criticized Kharge’s baseless claims as confusing and misleading.
What is the charge against Kharge?
Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge wrote a letter to the opposition INDIA coalition earlier this week. He said that the Election Commission’s refusal to publish the actual polling figures, delay in releasing the polling figures and not revealing the final list of voters for the next stages could influence the results of the Lok Sabha elections.
Don’t try to create confusion
The Electoral Commission, which has released a statement regarding this allegation, has said that Kharge’s allegations are baseless. The commission condemned the allegations as untenable, biased and a deliberate attempt to spread confusion without facts.
