The Election Commission reprimanded Congress president Malikarjun Kharj for disrupting the Lok Sabha elections. The committee called his statements aggressive in important aspects of election conduct.

The Election Commission said that the Congress’ allegations regarding the publication of vote-related data are baseless. This creates confusion in holding free and fair elections. The commission said such statements could have a negative impact on voter participation in elections. Even the large electoral mechanism in the countries may be freed from this.

Kharj raised questions about the publication of voting data.

Kharj wrote a letter to the leaders of the Indian alliance on 7 May. In the letter, questions were raised about the voting data published by the Election Commission. He claimed alleged forgery. In the letter, Kharj appealed to the leaders of the opposition alliance to raise their voices against such forgery. Kharj wrote “Our only goal is to protect the constitution and the culture of democracy.”

Kharj wrote a letter to the opposition leaders

The Congress President wrote, ‘As the Indian National Inclusive Development Alliance (India), it should be our joint effort to protect democracy and protect the impartiality of the Election Commission.’ Kharj raised questions about the change in the voter turnout data and claimed that “this could be an attempt to change the final results.” Kharj said, “We all know that PM Modi and BJP are worried about the voting trends in the first two phases. The entire country knows that this dictatorial government is drunk on power and can go to any extent to save its power.

Questions that arose about the delay in publishing data

In fact, the opposition parties are raising questions about the voter turnout and are delaying sharing the data of the two phases of the Lok Sabha elections. The turnout was low in the first two phases. However, a few hours after the vote, the election committee published new voter turnout data, in which the voter turnout increased by 5-6 percent. The opposition parties raised the question why there was so much delay in publishing the data? The opposition claimed fraud in the elections. Voting is underway for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, where 93 Lok Sabha seats in 11 states and union territories are being voted on.
