Ranchi: During the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, a huge cash recovery was made in Jharkhand by the ED. This huge amount of money was recovered from the house of Jharkhand rural development minister Alamgir Alam, personal secretary assistant Sanjeev Lal on Monday morning. According to ED sources, 30 crore rupees have been recovered so far. It is known that the money count is not over yet.

According to reports, this money laundering case started in Jharkhand in 2023. There were allegations of embezzlement in several projects under the Rural Development Department. Birendra K Ram, chief engineer of the department, was accused in that incident. The ED has arrested him and started investigating the case. ED sources claimed that this huge amount of cash was recovered after questioning.

On Monday morning, the ED raided the house of Jharkhand rural development minister Alamgir Alam, assistant private secretary Sanjeev Lal after getting a tip-off. Search operations were conducted at six places in Ranchi since Sunday night. Then on Monday ED reached the house of supervisor Sanjeev Lal. According to ED sources, this search operation is underway to investigate a case of financial theft in Jharkhand Rural Development Department.

Incidentally, earlier, central investigators recovered around 50 crore rupees in separate raids in two houses of former Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee’s girlfriend Arpita Mukherjee. Many people are curious whether the money recovered in this operation can reach that amount or not.
