Peshawar: Three people, including two officials and an informant, were killed and two others were injured when unknown persons fired at customs officials late at night near York Toll Plaza in DI Khan.
According to the police, the customs officers were sitting in a car at the bridge where the unknown assailants escaped after firing, police personnel and other law enforcers arrived at the scene.
The dead and injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital. The martyred officers have been identified as Inspector Hasnain and Constable Ziad Jadoun and Mukhbar Amir.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has condemned the incident of firing on the customs officers in the limits of Dera Ismail Khan York police station and has expressed sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of the officers.
It should be noted that the Customs Intelligence vehicle was targeted three days ago by unknown persons on Draban Road where five officers including an inspector were martyred.
