Today, on Wednesday, Vaishakh Amavasya (Sattu Amavasya) is celebrated across the country. Narmadapuram: Thousands of devotees took bath in the holy Mother Narmada at the ghats across the district including the ancient Sethani Ghat and took virtuous benefits by donating Sattu. The process of bathing started from 5 o’clock in the morning. The bathing period will continue until the evening. Thousands of devotees from remote areas including Narmadapuram including Itarsi, Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Betul have reached Narmada river after taking bath. Crowds of devotees gathered at all the ghats including ancient Sethani Ghat, Kori Ghat, Paryatan Ghat, Vivekananda Ghat, Bandrabandh Ghat, Sandia Ghat, Babri Ghat, Aawali Ghat. Worship is done by taking a bath in the river Narmada. It is important to put Sattu on this Amavasya. Because which devotees also give Sattu on the banks of Narmada.
