A smart meter is also one of these facilities. He said there are many benefits of a smart meter. But due to lack of information there are some misconceptions among the people. Not only that, some misconceptions are also spread. In such a situation he appealed to the people that if any problem arises, they should seek information from the officer of the concerned department. Any problems of the customers will be solved.
When Dinik Bhaskar told the electricity department officer that due to network and software issues, charging and balancing information is usually received within seven or eight days. In such a situation, it is natural for people to have doubts about smart meters. On this the DM said that this issue will be discussed in a video conference at the state level. It is under repair.
When the electrical department officer was asked about the message given at the charging. This is departmental language only. It is not easy for the common man to understand this. In such a situation the customer remains confused. The electricity department did not give any answer to this question. Apart from that, when an attempt was made to know from them that if any customer encountered any problem regarding the smart meter, then a phone number was also issued to solve his problem. On this, the officer of the electricity department said that the electricity department will hold Janta Durbar two days a week, during which the problem will be resolved.
It is clear from the answer of the electricity department that if someone faces any problem due to a smart meter, then his problem will not be solved immediately but he will have to wait for Janta Darbar.
The benefits of a smart pre-meter

- There is also a facility to view daily, weekly and monthly electricity consumption through the application. Due to this electricity will not be wasted unnecessarily.
- Consumers can recharge the meter with any minimal amount according to their need.
- There is no need to go to the Ministry of Electricity to pay the bill.
- Error-free billing at smart meters equipped with an automatic billing feature.
- No deposit is required for new connections delivered via smart meters. The deposit taken earlier is adjusted against the customer’s prepaid balance.
- Facility for depositing past debts in easy daily payments.
- After installing a smart prepaid meter, no fine will be charged for registration that exceeds the approved load for a period of 6 months. Consumers can increase their load according to their consumption
- In case the consumer installs solar panels connected to the grid, there is no need to change the meter from the smart head and install a separate meter.
