A 38-year-old dentist went to Japan to make a lot of money and is now a guest of the police. This dentist was caught continually stealing silver teeth at Kyushu University Hospital in Fukuoka City. According to Japan News, the name of the dental doctor (Dental Doctor) is not mentioned anywhere, although he is a professional, he has taken a side road to make money. He stole the silver teeth inside the hospital, sold them to others and got money. More than 100 silver teeth were stolen in 10 years, the value of which is around 30 million dollars (Rs. 25 crores).

Robbery for 10 years

The accused dentist previously worked at Kyushu University Hospital. On the pretext of training, he used to come and go easily inside the hospital with his ID card. He misused this opportunity and started stealing the silver teeth made in the hospital. Fukuoka Prefectural Police said he had been stealing like this for about 10 years and sold it to someone else for double the money.

At first, the hospital didn’t mind the silver teeth being stolen but they wouldn’t be used for a long time. On the night of August 13, 2023, there was suspicion when a silver tooth was stolen. Since then, the staff have been keeping an eye on the accused. On April 2, he was caught stealing a silver tooth weighing 2.5 grams and the police arrested him.

Sales to other companies

Silver teeth in hospital are usually left to the clinic treating patients for disposal. These teeth are sold to recycling companies so hospital staff often don’t worry about storing them. Dentists explain that 40 to 50 percent silver, 12 percent gold and 20 percent palladium are used to make silver teeth.
