New Delhi (May 06): Are the spices used in your home fake? Are Fake Spices Playing With Your Health? In fact, the Delhi police crime branch busted a gang that manufactures fake spices and supplies them in Delhi markets, due to which these questions are being raised.

These mixed spices were produced in two factories in the Karawal Nagar area of ​​Delhi. The police seized a total of 15 tonnes of adulterated spices and raw materials from these factories. These fake spices were prepared with the help of non-food ingredients, banned substances, chemicals and acids.

Rotten rice and sawdust are used

In this raid, the police seized 7105 kg of fake spices, including 3300 kg of turmeric powder, 115 kg of garam masala, 1450 kg of mango powder and 2240 kg of coriander powder. Not only this, the raw material is 1050 kg rotten rice, 200 kg rotten millet, 6 kg rotten coconut, 720 kg coriander seeds, eucalyptus leaves, rotten plum, wood, citric acid, husk 2150 kg , 440 kg dry red chillies, chemically colored, 2 large processing machines were also seized.

According to the crime branch, these factories were run by people named Dilip Singh and Sarfaraz, while the responsibility of supplying these fake spices belonged to a person named Khurshid Malik. The three have been arrested by the police.

During the investigation, these fake spices were being sold in Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar, Khari Baoli, Pul Mithai and weekly markets. The police are now questioning them and trying to find the shopkeeper and other members of the gang.
