He said that the farmers will hold a dharna for their rights outside the Punjab Assembly on April 29 and will not withdraw from the dharna until their demands are met. Before the start of this year’s wheat harvest, the government had 40 lakh tonnes of wheat reserves. During the tenure of the caretaker government, 3.4 lakh tonnes of wheat worth a billion dollars was imported from abroad by the private sector, which is 36% more than the same period of the previous financial year.
