In the case of the death of a young man due to negligence in treatment and operation, the District Committee for the Redress of Consumer Disputes ordered compensation of 10,000,000 to the doctor and the hospital. The family brought him to New Value Hospital in Magrafra for treatment on November 12, 2016. Here laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Brajesh Patel did an MRI and advised for surgery. The family members said that if necessary they would go elsewhere for better treatment, but Dr. Patel Described himself as a better surgeon and was admitted to the hospital on December 28, 2016. Had cervical spine surgery on December 29, 2016.

After the operation, the patient’s condition worsened, the family members complained about this repeatedly to the hospital management, but no attention was paid to it. When the patient’s condition deteriorated, the management told about the need for a blood transfusion and took Rs 4,000 from the family. The hospital staff brought blood from outside and kept it in the refrigerator, which was transfused the next day. After that, the patient’s health began to deteriorate.

I got an infection and began to swell. There was swelling all over the body. The family members informed the management. The bench of district consumer commission chairman Anand Kumar Singhal, members Purnima Singh and Alok Pandey heard the case and held the hospital management and Dr. Brajesh Patel responsible and ordered to pay Rs 10 lakh as compensation within 45 days. 5,000 rupees will also have to be paid as litigation expenses.

Referred after second surgery

Management took him outside and took an x-ray and said the patient’s intestine had ruptured, requiring immediate surgery. A second operation was performed on January 6, 2017. After that, the patient’s condition began to deteriorate further. The family members repeatedly asked to be released so that they could take him to another hospital, but the hospital management did not agree. Finally, on January 10, 2017, he was referred as his condition became critical, but he died on the way to Apollo Hospital.
