Kolkata: The Election Commission started recovering and confiscating crores of rupees across the state after the immediate announcement of the Lok Sabha. The Election Commission has been recovering crores of rupees since March 1. According to the commission, various agencies have recovered 60 crore worth of items. Among these several things including cash and jewelery have been seized.

On the other hand, the first phase of voting in the state is in Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar constituencies. In addition to the general observer, the Election Commission also sent a police observer. IPS officers have been sent to three Dundee elections for three North Bengal constituencies by the commission. In addition, the electoral commission has already sent the name of the income-expenditure observer for the second round of elections.

These observers are said to arrive in the state early next week. On Friday, the commission said that the process of accepting nominations had started from the 20th. 4 nominations have already been submitted in Coch Behar. 1 nomination has been submitted in Jalpaiguri. Moreover, so far the commission has received 14,786 complaints in Cooch Behar, 3,743 in Alipurduar, 7,186 in Jalpaiguri. A total of 2,36,664 complaints have been reported across the state. According to the commission, 515 complaints have been submitted to the C-Vigil.

In addition, 2 companies in Alipurduar, 5 companies in Cooch Behar and 4 companies in Jalpaiguri have already been deployed.
