The Congress won the first three seats by Ajit Sharma from Bagalpur, Tariq Anwar from Katihar and Mohd from Kishanj. Gave a ticket to Javed. Now on Monday the names of the candidates for five seats were announced. The Congress got nine seats in the Grand Alliance and so far the Congress has finalized the candidates for eight seats and presented its names.
The Congress has yet to announce the name of the candidate for the Patna Sahib seat. Hence the name of Maira Kumar’s son Anshul Abhijit is discussed. Whereas BJP fielded former Union Minister and Parliament Ravi Shankar Prasad.

First know the electoral math of 8 out of nine seats won by the Congress.
1. Kathihar- Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar is in the fray from Katihar. He also formed a separate party NCP along with Sharad Pawar, but then left NCP and returned to Congress. Last time he was defeated by JDU’s Dulal Chand Goswami in Katihar. This time JDU again gave ticket to Dalal Chand Goswami. Tariq Anwar was a member of parliament five times. If he wins again then politics will be his six in cricket. He is at loggerheads with JDU’s Dulalchand Goswami.
2. Kishanganj- JDU candidate from Kishanj is Mujahid Alam. AIMIM candidate Akhtarul Iman is also in the fray here. The Congress here again resonates. Javed got a ticket. In the recent Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Mohd. It was Jude who saved the reputation of the Grand Alliance. He defeated Syed Mahmood Ashraf of JDU.
3. Bhagalpur-In Bhagalpur, Ajay Mandal of JDU is contesting against Ajit Sharma of Congress. Ajay Mandal defeated RJD’s Shailesh Kumar in the last Lok Sabha elections. Congress is conducting a grand experiment of social engineering by fielding Ajit Sharma from Bhumihar caste in the OBC region. Sharma is an MLA from Bhagalpur.
4. Maharajganj- In Maharajanj, Akash Prasad Singh of the Congress is pitted against Jarnardhan Singh Sigriwal of the BJP. Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh first managed to send himself to the Rajya Sabha for the second time and then managed to get his son Akash a ticket from Rajganj. Prabhunat Singh’s son was in the race from here but Akash won the race for the ticket thanks to his father. Last time, Sigriwal defeated RJD’s Randhir Kumar Singh from here. Then Lalu Prasad’s brother-in-law Sadhu Yadav was in the fray on a BSP ticket. In 2014, Sigriwal defeated Bahabuli Prabhunat Singh here. Akash also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Upendra Kushwaha gave him RLSP ticket from East Champaran. Akash lost badly to BJP leader Radha Mohan Singh.
5. Sasaram- In Sasaram, BJP’s Shivesh Ram is pitted against Congress’s Manoj Kumar. Here BJP canceled the ticket of sitting MP Chedi Paswan. After that there was an ongoing discussion about Chadhi being able to take Congress membership. But the Congress did not include him in the party and gave the ticket to Manoj Kumar. Manoj Kumar was also associated with VIP. His mother Yashoda Devi stayed with the Congress all her life. Manoj fought the last Lok Sabha elections from Sasaram on a BSP ticket. Studied Rural Development from IGNOU. Mayra Kumar, a five-time parliamentarian from Messaram, announced that she will no longer run in the elections. Maira Kumar’s husband hails from the Kushwaha caste, hence her son cannot contest from the reserved seat of Sasaram.
6. Samastipur- The competition here has become interesting. Congress has given ticket to JDU leader Maheshwar Hazari’s son Sunny Hazari and he will be contesting against JDU leader Ashok Chaudhry’s daughter Shambhavi LJP (R). I mean, the political enmity between the children of two leaders of the same party seems incredible. Last time, LJP’s Ramachandra Paswan won the elections from here defeating Congress’s Ashok Kumar. After Ramachandra Paswan’s death by-elections were held here and Ramachandra Paswan’s son Prince Raj won the elections. Congress fielded Dr. Ashok Ram only.
Sunny Hazari, son of minister Maheshwar Hazari, who is close to Nitish Kumar, joined the Congress a few days ago, the party made him a candidate from Samastipur.
7. Muzaffarpur- Here BJP cut Ajay Nishad’s ticket and gave the ticket to Rajbhushan Chaudhary. Ajay Nishad then rebelled and took a member of the Congress. Now the Congress has given him a ticket from Muzaffarpur. Last time, BJP’s Ajay Nishad won from here and he defeated VIP’s Rajbhushan Chaudhary.
8. West Champaran- From here, Manoj Mohan Tiwari of Congress will face Sanjay Jaiswal of BJP. Madan Mohan Tiwari is an MA and LLB. He was the commander and the blocks. Won the 2015 Majholia Legislative Assembly elections. Then he defeated former minister Renu Devi.
9. Patna Sahib- The candidate has not yet been announced.
Why is there a problem in the Patna Sahib seat?
The Congress has already given entry ticket to the niche cabinet minister, Maheshwar Hazari, and the son of the state president, Akhilesh Prasad Singh. Now there is talk of Maira Kumar’s son Anshul Abhijeet getting a ticket from Patna Sahib, but the issue is still stuck. Congress is in a quandary over how many of the nine seats should be given to leaders’ sons.
Former Youth Congress working president Manjit Anand Sahu, who hails from Thali community, is contesting from here. He is the National Executive President of All India Tailik Sahu Mahasabha and the Youth State President of Rashtriya Vaishya Mahasabha Bihar. He is also the national convenor of the All India Ati Pichda Sangharsh Morcha.
Senior BJP leader and former Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is contesting from Patna Sahib. Last time, Ravi Shankar Prasad defeated Strughan Sena from here.
